The Problem
Dr. William Bruno’s previous website did not reflect the in-office experience patients encountered when visiting his Beverly Hills practice. The visual identity felt disconnected from the physical environment, creating a subtle but important gap in brand trust and user confidence.
In elective cosmetic procedures, patients are not simply choosing a service. They are choosing safety, expertise, and emotional reassurance. The digital experience needed to fully support that decision-making process.
UX Goals
The redesign was guided by three core objectives: building immediate trust, creating emotional comfort, and aligning the digital experience with the physical office environment.
Because patients in this category typically spend significant time researching before booking a consultation, the website needed to feel credible, elevated, and calming from the very first interaction.
Research & Insight
Through evaluating the existing website and analyzing the in-office environment, a key disconnect became clear.
The physical office featured a warm, refined, welcoming color palette that naturally put patients at ease. However, this feeling was not reflected in the digital experience.
This created a gap in the user journey where the online experience felt cool and inconsistent, while the in-person experience felt warm and reassuring.
Bridging this emotional and visual disconnect became the foundation of the UX strategy.
UX Strategy
A core approach was establishing environmental brand continuity.
I extracted the dominant tones from the physical office and applied them intentionally across the website design. This ensured that the digital experience directly reflected the real-world environment.
This matters because familiarity reduces anxiety. When patients recognize visual cues from the website in the physical office, it reinforces subconscious trust and increases perceived safety — a critical factor in medical decision-making.
To balance luxury positioning with emotional accessibility, the design also focused on creating luxury without intimidation. This was achieved through generous white space, a restrained and cohesive color system, and typography that communicates expertise without feeling rigid or overwhelming. Clear content hierarchy was used to reduce cognitive load and improve clarity.
In addition, the experience was structured to support decision-making at every stage. Navigation was simplified to make procedures easy to find, content was designed to be digestible, and before-and-after imagery was given visual breathing room. Strategic placement of consultation calls-to-action helped guide users toward confident next steps without pressure.
Results & Impact
The final experience successfully aligned the digital and in-office environments, creating a cohesive and trustworthy brand presence that better reflected the elevated level of care patients receive at Dr. Bruno's Beverly Hills practice.
By focusing on emotional reassurance, environmental continuity, and clear information hierarchy, the redesigned experience strengthened credibility and supported patient decision-making throughout the research process. The site elevated the perceived value of the practice while maintaining a sense of warmth and approachability—an important balance in the highly personal and emotional world of elective cosmetic procedures.
Following launch, user behavior metrics reflected the effectiveness of the redesign. Average time on site increased by more than one minute, indicating deeper engagement with content and a stronger connection to the patient journey. User engagement improved by approximately 20%, reaching engagement rates in the high 60% range, while pages viewed per session increased by more than two pages, demonstrating that visitors were exploring treatment information, physician credentials, and supporting content more thoroughly before taking action.
This project demonstrates how thoughtful UX strategy, emotional design, and brand alignment can directly influence user trust, engagement, and conversion. By creating continuity between the physical and digital experience, the redesign helped build confidence during a high-stakes medical decision-making process while delivering measurable improvements in user behavior.
